It was a rare occasion to walk into my grandma's house and not see her meticulously hand-quilting her latest creation stretched out on a frame in her living room or basement. I don't know if we ever did have a full count on the number of quilts she stitched over the years with her hands and her trusty Singer. So I grew up with a love for quilts.
